Catherine had recently graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. majoring in Linguistics and English when she returned in 2006 to attend the grand opening of the Galveston location of her mother Susan’s practice. Though just in town for the party, Susan hoped her daughter’s love of the Gulf Coast would draw her back. She had a position open that would suit both Catherine’s language and management skills perfectly and was thrilled about the prospect of having her daughter close. Susan extended the offer and Catherine accepted.
Catherine began her tenure at Edmonson Law in 2006 as Office Manager of the newly opened Galveston branch. By 2009, now managing both offices, she accomplished her first of many achievements, that of relocating the firm’s central location from the Seabrook to the Galveston office. In the following years, as Senior Executive Legal Aide, Catherine specialized in Probate, completing over 100 cases from 2009-2014. Since 2014, Catherine has concentrated her efforts on firm administration, paying special attention to employee engagement and education.
According to Catherine, “being able to work with my mom has been great. I can approach her with an idea and she is willing to try it and see if it works or not. Not everyone gets that respect from an employer.”
Outside of the office, Catherine enjoys philosophy, cooking, and most of all, spending time with her four dogs, Pippin, Pencil, Jojo, and Marshmallow.
